American college student, Amanda Knox has been sentenced to 26 years in an Italian prison.  Knox was found guilty of murdering her British room mate in Perugia, Italy in 2007.  In addition to Knox, 2 other people were accused and subsequently tried for the murder.  An Italian man, Raffaele Sollecito, the ex-boyfriend of Knox and Rudy Hermann Guede, an Ivory Coast citizen.  Sollecito was sentenced along with Knox who also received a 26 year sentencing.  Guede opted for a fast track hearing and was sentenced to 30 years in prison.  Click here to read more about the sentencing of Amanda Knox.
