Since becoming a lawyer in 1992, I have practiced in a variety of settings. I have worked for a large firm, small firm, the government and as a solo practitioner. I am well-aware of the opportunities and concerns of lawyers in a number of settings. I am able to listen to and appreciate the concerns of individuals and lawyers in a variety of circumstances.
Presently, attorneys in San Diego face challenging economic circumstances which magnify other concerns regarding the profession. Recent law school graduates and lawyers in transition have found it difficult to find the employment they desire. In addition, San Diego County is becoming more diverse and one hopes that the ranks of lawyers and leaders in the legal profession will follow suit. I believe that the SDCBA is uniquely situated to be a leader in supporting lawyers in transition, small firm owners through low cost, free MCLE’s and dues.
